Thank you for visiting Styles by Shoshana! I am originally from Beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina, but I have been a resident of Atlanta, Georgia for many years. I have been a master cosmetologist for the last six years. Ever since I was 11 years old, I have had a passion for and interest in cosmetology. Growing up, I used to experiment with different styles on my friends and family. I can remember the time when my grandfather brought home a box of black dye to dye his gray hair! What an experience! We got it all over my mother’s kitchen sink. She told my grandfather that the next time he wanted to get his hair colored that he should do so at his house. It was through such creative experimentation that my interest in cosmetology was cultivated. After I graduated high school, I attended beauty school in Atlanta, Georgia. After I received my license, I moved from Georgia to New York. While exploring the Big Apple, I began taking advance-training classes in hair coloring and haircutting. Upon my return to the south, I started working for Vidal Sassoon as a hair colorist assistant. At Vidal Sassoon, I learned the fundamentals of hair coloring, but that wasn’t enough. Discontent, I felt like my creativity included more than simply standing behind a chair. There was something missing. I realized that I was also intrigued by makeup. One day, I built up enough courage to go to M.A.C. and fill out an application. Weeks later I got called in for an interview. On the spot, I had to audition. Guess who my model was? The manager! As a part of my audition, I had to do a day and night look on her. I was terrified! I confronted my fear and was offered the job as a makeup artist at M.A.C. Shortly there after, I fell in love with makeup! I began freelancing on photo shoots, video shoots, and weddings. In my heart, hair and makeup took vows and got married! As a cosmetologist and makeup artist, I take pride in what I do. I use my knowledge and passion to provide clients with quality service and products! I am a firm believer in pleasing each customer. The greatest joy for me is to see a client’s face light up, when she sees how beautiful she is!
